Are you a motivated high school junior in Fairfax or Loudoun County with a passion for technology, leadership, and community impact? SaNDAI Cares is recruiting rising students to serve as community leaders for its DataGen Scholars (DGS) program — and we want YOU to be part of the movement.
As a Treasurer, you will help launch and lead a community-based program that empowers your peers with cutting-edge knowledge in data analytics, generative AI, and innovation.

About the Program:

DataGen Scholars (DGS) is a national initiative by SaNDAI Cares that empowers high school students with data analytics, generative AI, and leadership skills to thrive in the digital age. Through hands-on learning, real-world applications, and community-based programs, students gain knowledge that fuels both academic and community impact.

Role Summary:

SaNDAI Cares is seeking 20 high school juniors to serve as Treasurers of their community’s DataGen Scholars program. Treasurers will take the lead on managing program funds and coordinating fundraising efforts to expand program resources and student access. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for students with strong financial judgment, organizational skills, and a passion for equity and innovation. You are also required to attend 14 hours of training with the SaNDAI Cares once you begin in this role.

As Treasurer, you will work directly with SaNDAI Cares’ Director of Operations and your fellow program officers to ensure financial transparency and sustainability for your program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 💵 Maintain and manage the program’s petty cash allocation, starting at $500 per school
  • 📊 Track all program inflows and outflows, submitting monthly reports to SaNDAI Cares
  • 💬 Work with SaNDAI Cares’ Director of Operations on program financial procedures
  • 💡 Lead fundraising initiatives in collaboration with SaNDAI Cares and program officers
  • 👥 Engage all program officers and members in fundraising activities
  • 🧑🏽‍🤝‍🧑🏼 Support the President and Vice President in achieving membership and engagement goals
  • 📢 Assist with program promotion and adherence to the DGS Code of Conduct
  • 📬 Participate in regular check-ins with SaNDAI Cares leadership

Additional Requirements:

  • Must attend a SaNDAI Cares Financial Management Course before August 31, 2025
  • Must demonstrate sound budgeting and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a current high school junior enrolled in a Fairfax or Loudoun County public school
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Active in at least one school-based club or team sport
  • Strong math, budgeting, or organizational background preferred
  • Enthusiastic about fundraising and leading others in collaborative campaigns

Compensation & Timeline:

  • Treasurers will receive a $250 stipend beginning May 1, 2025 and must attend also 14 hours of training with the SaNDAI Cares team at the start of their role.
  • The official term is May 1 – June 30, 2025, with potential continuation for the 2025–2026 academic year
